Find an EIN for a public company, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, or your own business. Public-company EINs appear in SEC filings; nonprofit EINs are in the IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search. For private LLCs, the EIN is not publicly listed — see the lookup-channel matrix below.

EINs of public companies appear in SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, etc.). 501(c)(3) nonprofit EINs are public via IRS Exempt Organization Search. Private business EINs are NOT publicly listed — the IRS does not maintain a public database of private business EINs. If you've lost your own EIN, request Form 147C from the IRS Business & Specialty Tax Line.
Unlike the corporation registration databases at state Secretaries of State, the IRS does not publish a database of private business EINs. There is no legal way to look up a competitor's EIN without an authorized purpose. The lookup channels in the snapshot above are limited to public companies, nonprofits, and your own entity recovery.
If you've lost your CP-575 confirmation letter, request Form 147C from the IRS Business & Specialty Tax Line (800-829-4933). The IRS will fax or mail the confirmation. Anonymousllc.co keeps a copy of every EIN we acquire — clients can request it any time at no cost.
If a vendor or contractor provides an EIN on a W-9, you can use IRS TIN Matching (for paid programs) or the IRS On-Line Taxpayer Identification Number Matching Service (Quarterly Federal Tax Return E-File required). Banking partners may also offer EIN verification as a service tied to KYB workflows.
