Zero recurring state obligations. The only anonymous LLC state where ongoing cost is just registered agent renewal.

New Mexico does not require LLCs to file an annual report. This is codified in New Mexico Statutes § 53-19-65. There is no biennial report either. Once your Articles of Organization are filed and accepted, you have no recurring filing obligation with the state.
This is unique among anonymous LLC states. Wyoming requires a $60 annual report. Delaware requires a $300 annual franchise tax. Nevada requires a $200 Business License renewal and a $150 Annual List — $350/year combined.
| State | Annual state obligation | RA renewal | Total annual cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| New Mexico | $0 | ~$40 | ~$40 |
| Wyoming | $60 | ~$40 | ~$100 |
| Delaware | $300 | ~$40 | ~$340 |
| Nevada | $350 | ~$40 | ~$390 |
In Wyoming, if you miss your annual report, the state can administratively dissolve your LLC. In Nevada, failing to file the Annual List or renew the Business License triggers penalties and potential revocation. In New Mexico, there is nothing to miss. Your LLC remains in good standing as long as you maintain a registered agent.
If you are forming multiple LLCs — for example, one per rental property or one per business venture — the annual cost difference compounds. Five Wyoming LLCs cost $500/year in state obligations. Five New Mexico LLCs cost $0/year in state obligations. For holding company structures with many subsidiaries, New Mexico's lack of annual reporting makes it the clear cost leader.
$347 total ($297 + $50 state). $0/year in state obligations.
