Wyoming combines four advantages no other state matches together: no public member/manager listing on Articles per Wyoming Statute § 17-29-201, single-member charging order protection under § 17-29-503(a), no state income tax, and the lowest ongoing cost at $60/year for the annual report.
Per Wyoming Statute § 17-29-201, the Articles require: LLC name, registered agent name and Wyoming address, principal office address (can be the RA address), and organizer signature (the formation service, not the owner). Member and manager identities are not required.
Wyoming Statute § 17-29-503(a) limits a judgment creditor of an LLC member to a charging order against distributions — not the LLC interest itself. Wyoming extends this protection to single-member LLCs, which most states do not. This is a critical differentiator for asset protection.
Wyoming LLCs have the best banking acceptance rates of the four anonymous states. Mercury, Relay, and Bluevine all work well with Wyoming addresses. Anonymousllc.co applies to 4-5 banks concurrently, achieving 90%+ overall approval.
New Mexico is cheaper ($297 vs $397, no annual report). Wyoming is stronger: better charging order protection for single-member LLCs, better banking acceptance, no state income tax. For most buyers, Wyoming is the recommended default. NM is right for budget-first buyers or subsidiary entities.
$397 all-in. 5-10 day turnaround.
